Pooh Shiesty is back outside. The Memphis rapper was released early from federal prison this week, stepping into the spotlight after serving just over three years of a 63-month sentence tied to a 2020 shooting in Florida.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Shiesty — born Lontrell Williams — is no longer listed at the high-security Pennsylvania facility where he was being held. His original release date was set for April 2026, but videos that surfaced online Monday night (October 6) show the rapper celebrating his homecoming surrounded by family, friends, and supporters.
While officials haven’t confirmed the exact circumstances of his release, reports suggest the 24-year-old may now be living in a halfway house. Either way, fans are already buzzing about his potential comeback, with social media lighting up as clips from his welcome-home party spread.
Pooh Shiesty ’s legal troubles stem back to an October 2020 deal gone wrong at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Prosecutors said he and two others met up to purchase marijuana and designer sneakers, but the encounter turned violent — one man was shot in the buttocks.
Shiesty was initially released on bond but was later taken into federal custody. In January 2022, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. The deal spared him from a possible life sentence, while three other charges were dropped.
Now free, Shiesty’s next moves are anyone’s guess. With three years away from the game and the streets already talking, his return could shift the energy in Memphis rap all over again.
