On Monday (January 12), rumors began to circulate that Memphis-born rapper Pooh Shiesty was back in police custody just months after being released. But one source close to the rap star says that is not the case.
Pooh Shiesty Not Back in Police Custody According to His Label
The speculation occurred after DJ Akademiks revealed that the Back in Blood creator’s name appeared on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. With a release date of October 11. However, the media personality says that he spoke with Pooh Shiesty’s label directly. And they confirmed that he has not been taken into custody. However, he is currently on house arrest.
“Pooh Shiesty record label reached out to me and confirmed that he is not in jail,” Akademiks clarified in a social media post on Monday. “Apparently, his April date existed since his ‘release, ‘ and he’s on home confinement until April, like he has been the whole time since his release.”

The rap star was previously jailed for a federal firearms conspiracy conviction. This was derived from a plethora of incidents involving drug trafficking and violent crimes, including a 2020 shooting where he and others assaulted victims to steal marijuana, codeine, and sneakers.
He pleaded guilty in January 2022 and was sentenced to over five years in prison. However, he was released last October, and credited with time served and good behaviour.
