Rap star Pooh Shiesty is facing long odds in his upcoming armed robbery trial. But he is pulling out the big guns to give himself the best chance to come out victorious.
Pooh Shiesty Taps High-Powered Lawyer For Upcoming Case
According to court documents obtained by Complex, the Back in Blood rapper has enlisted the services of Bradford Cohen. A high-powered hip-hop attorney who has represented the likes of Lil Wayne and Kodak Black in the past.
Cohen also represented the rap star when he was previously jailed for a federal firearms conspiracy conviction. The charges stemmed from a series of incidents. Involving drug trafficking and violent crimes. Including a 2020 shooting where he and others assaulted victims to steal marijuana, codeine, and sneakers.
The FDO rapper pleaded guilty in January 2022 and was sentenced to over five years in prison. However, Shiesty was released last October, and credited with time served and good behaviour.
Following his arrest earlier this month, Cohen spoke to TMZ. And noted that there were “inconsistencies” in the feds’ criminal investigation that led to the rapper’s arrest.
“I read over the indictment and can see some inconsistencies that we will address at future hearings,” he said to the outlet on Friday (April 3). “I will save any further comments for after we get full discovery, I know my client is looking forward to holding the Government to their burden.”
The feds swept up the FDO rapper in April for his alleged connection to an armed robbery that he executed back in January. He, along with rapper Big 30, his father Lontrell Williams Sr, and several other men held rapper Gucci Mane at gunpoint to make him sign paperwork to release him from his record deal with his 1017 Brick Squad Label.
If convicted, Pooh Shiesty could face up to life in prison.
