There has been a major development Pooh Shiesty’s federal case. And it’s great news for one of his co-defendants.
Pooh Shiesty’s Father Granted Bond Ahead of Trial
According to a Thursday (May 28) report from WREG in Memphis, the rapper’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., has been ordered to be released from federal custody.
The rap star’s father was set to be released from federal custody on a $250,000 bonds back in April under the condition of home confinement. However, that was paused after prosecutors requested a stay order to have the presiding judge take a further look at the case.
Williams Sr. was among nine men who were arrested. For their role in an armed robbery this past January. Investigators believe that Pooh Shiesty rounded up the group to execute an ambush on rap artist Gucci Mane.
The feds believe that the rap star organized a one-on-one with Gucci Mane at his studio in Dallas. To amicably resolve a contract dispute and release him from his record deal with 1017 Brick Squad. But when Gucci declined, the nine men blitzed him and coerced the rapper to sign the documentation, releasing him from his deal.
They also allege that the men robbed Gucci and the other victims of jewelry, Rolex watches, and cash.
So far, eight of the men have been arrested. While one person remains at large. The investigation has caught the eyes of the entire hip-hop community. The case is currently scheduled to begin on July 6.
If Shiesty is convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
