As a rap artist who had a tendency to be provocative on beats, Pop Smoke gained a lot of rivals during his short-lived rap career. One of those rivals was fellow Brooklyn artist, Tekashi 6ix9ine.
Pop Smoke’s Brother Invites 6ix9ine on Stream
Unfortunately, Pop Smoke was gunned down during an altercation at a Los Angeles rental home in February 2020. Now, nearly six years after his death, Pop Smoke’s brother, Obasi, has extended an Olive Branch to 6ix9ine. And invited him to come on a future stream. Despite Tekashi and Pop still being rivals before his passing.
“Listen, I don’t know about the beef that my brother and 6ix9ine had,” Obasi began. “But, yo 6ix9ine, fuck with a n***a. Come on my stream, bro. I want to talk with you, bro.”
Obasi also went on to heap praise on the Brooklyn-born rap star. He acknowledges Tekashi’s “knowledge” and the impact that he has had on digital media as a whole.
“You got so much— I know you got mad knowledge. You carry the internet, my guy, I’m sorry. I’ve been saying this since day one. 6ix9ine got the internet on lock,” Obasi continued.
“He’s smart, bro. He knows what he’s doing. Everything is not just a coincidence. This shit is… strategic. It’s thought out.”
He also took the opportunity to call out 6ix9ine’s critics. While also crediting Tekashi for rising to the top, despite others trying to “diminish” his character.
“They are really trying to diminish your character. They really tryna minimize who you are, for real,” he continued. “You really weren’t dealt the greatest hand, and you’re still alive, gang. 6ix9ine’s come-up and comeback gotta be studied, gang.”

However, users on social media did not appear to believe that his comments were genuine.
“Bros would do anything for clout,” one user said on X (formerly Twitter).
“Wild turn of events. Never thought we’d see Pop Smoke’s own brother reaching out to 6ix9ine,” another user added.
To this point, the rap star has not responded to Jackson’s invitation to join him on a future stream.
