Pop Smoke’s Family Set to Open Coffe Shop in His Honor
The shop called Pop’s Place is “opening soon,” according to the late rapper’s brother, Obasi.
“Pop’s Place is opening soon in Canarsie. We’re looking for experienced baristas ready to be part of something special,” he captioned the social media post.
Fans in the comments section of the post were already excited about the upcoming establishment.
“Omg congratulations!! 🍾 long live woo,” one user wrote on social media.
“I saw the shop, it looked beautiful,” a second user added.
“Oh, I am 100% making a trip here on opening day,” a third user chimed in.
Pop Smoke passed away in February 2020. After being fatally shot during a home invasion at a rental property in Hollywood Hills, California. Before his tragic passing, Pop Smoke was one of the most popular artists in the industry. However, Obasi says that following his death, many of the people who claimed to be ride or die have faded into the background.
“The people that ya’ll would think should be tapping in are not tapping in,” he said. “You know Akademiks already had an interview with Fivio. I’ve already run down on him on the internet.”
He also added:
“If I die right now and my friends don’t check on my mom or my family ever, that’s an issue. Everybody gotta get money. I would never want to see a black man get no money. But if you’re talking about ‘yo I’m ride or die. We the woos. Five star I got it tatted on me ….’”
Obasi hasn’t revealed when the coffee shop will officially open. Stay tuned for more updates.
