Chicago rap artist RondoNumba9 is currently serving a 39-year prison sentence. But even with a long road ahead, Rondo appears to be in good spirits.
RondoNumbaNine Shares Message From Prison
In a recent social media post, the rapper shared an updated mugshot. He shared an optimistic message for his fans.
“Until it’s backwards. I’m tired of mugshots. That’s getting back on track. I ain’t in this mfing playing around,” he captioned the post as caught by SayCheeseDGTL on X.

However, many of the users in the comments section were not as optimistic about a return home for Rondo.
“The get back?! Bruh, you’re cooked and booked! Rap might not even exist the same when or if you make it home,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Oh yeah, throw this ni**a another 15 years, he ain’t learn s*** I see,” a second user chimed in.
“By the time blud come out, we gonna have robot rappers. Bro doesn’t even know we got AI,” a third user remarked.
Rap Star Speaks Out About His ‘Legacy’
Rondo’s sentence stems from the 2014 murder of 2014 murder of Javan Boyd, a 28-year-old livery cab driver. Rondo and fellow rapper Cdai shot Boyd while he was waiting for a passenger in February 2014. Rondo was arrested after investigators found his fingerprints on the car. He was sentenced to 39 years in July 2016.
However, prison does not appear to have changed how he feels about the situation. Back in 2022, he shared a message from prison. And said that despite the hate, he is proud that he has always remained true to himself.
“I showed y’all I’m like no other (Rondonumbanine), just thinking about my legacy, I had to zone all the way in dodge the hate, but I showed I’m really that through my daily activities,” he said as caught by HotNewHipHop. “It wasn’t hard, it was more like go harder show em this shit run too deep. “Put it like this, you can hate on me and hate real, or u can respect me and become more realer. Choose wisely cuz I ain’t letting up.”
