Lontrell Williams Sr, the father of rap star Pooh Shiesty, was arrested for his participation in an armed robbery earlier this month. The rap star’s father was set to be released from federal custody on a $250,000 bonds. Under the condition of home confinement.
Prosecutors Motion to Revoke Bond For Shiesty’s Father
However, prosecutors are now trying to block Williams Sr. from receiving his bond. According to a Wednesday (April 8) report from Complex, that motion has been stayed. For at least a week so that another judge can “take a look” at the case.
Last week, Williams Sr. was among nine men who were arrested. For their role in an armed robbery this past January. Investigators believe that Shiesty rounded up the group to execute an ambush on rap artist Gucci Mane.
The feds believe that Shiesty organized a one-on-one with Gucci Mane at his studio in Dallas. To amicably resolve a contract dispute and release him from his record deal with 1017 Brick Squad. But when Gucci declined, the nine men blitzed him and coerced the rapper to sign the documentation, releasing him from his deal.
They also allege that the men robbed Gucci and the other victims of jewelry, Rolex watches, and cash.
However, in a statement to XXL, Shiesty’s attorney Bradford Cohen says that he has already noticed some inconsistencies in the feds’ discovery.
“We are still evaluating the alleged evidence against Mr. Williams, Jr. at this time,” he said. “After the bond hearing on Mr. Williams Sr. and the testimony we reviewed, it appears that there is a significant gap in the statements made by the government and the actual evidence. As such, we have been reviewing those issues in anticipation of Mr. Williams, Jr.’s bond hearing.”
If convicted, Shiesty could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
