Boosie BadAzz is set to be sentenced this week in his federal firearm case, with prosecutors recommending he serve two years in prison.
On Jan. 2, United States Attorney Adam Gordon filed a sentencing recommendation calling for Boosie to spend 24 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release. The government is also seeking a mandatory $100 special assessment fee. While the recommendation outlines the prosecution’s position, the final decision will rest with the judge when Boosie is formally sentenced on Jan. 9.
The case dates back to 2023, when Boosie was arrested in San Diego after police discovered multiple firearms in his vehicle. Authorities reportedly became aware of the situation after a gun was seen in Boosie’s waistband during an Instagram Live broadcast. The discovery led to federal charges tied to firearm possession.
Last August, Boosie accepted a plea deal in the case, paving the way for this week’s sentencing. Despite the prosecution’s recommendation, the Louisiana rapper is reportedly hopeful for leniency and is also seeking a pardon from Donald Trump.
The upcoming sentencing marks a critical moment in Boosie’s ongoing legal battles, with the outcome expected to have a significant impact on his career and personal freedom moving forward.
