Public Enemy Announces Flavor Flav Is No Longer Part Of The Group

Chuck D recently said Flavor Flav would have one year to “get his act together,” Public Enemy has just announced he’s no longer part of the groundbreaking Hip Hop group. In a statement sent to HipHopDX, Chuck D and company made it abundantly clear their time with Flav has come to end.

“Public Enemy and Public Enemy Radio will be moving forward without Flavor Flav,” the statement reads. “‘We thank him for his years of service and wish him well.”

Flavor Flav fired off a cease-and-desist letter to Sanders’ campaign, stressing that Flav and Public Enemy have not endorsed the Vermont senator.

“To be clear Flav and, by extension, the Hall of Fame hip hop act Public Enemy with which his likeness and name have become synonymous has not endorsed any political candidate in this election cycle and any suggestion to the contrary is plainly untrue,” reads the letter from attorney Matthew H. Friedman

Public Enemy Radio — Chuck D, DJ Lord, Jahi of P.E. 2.0 and the S1Ws — are performing at the Bernie Sanders rally in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 1), which proved to be a point of contention for Flav. His legal team quickly issued a statement, blasting Public Enemy’s involvement (despite it being a Public Enemy Radio performance).
