Pusha T and Malice, better known as Clipse are set to drop their first album in more than a decade. The new project, titled “Let God Sort Em Out” will hit the streets on July 11.
Pusha T Explains How Kendrick Lamar Collab Came About
On Monday (June 30) the rap duo unveiled the tracklist for their forthcoming project Let God Sort ‘Em Out along with a star-studded list of feature artists. One of those artists is rap star Kendrick Lamar. When discussing how the collaboration came about, Pusha T said that it was a no-brainer for both sides.
“Clipse and Kendrick together, that speaks lyricism. I don’t think anyone wants anything other than that,” Pusha said.
“We let his folks hear the album. He called them and was like ‘Listen, you need to get on this’. At this particular time, he was super busy. He sent them songs over. He called back laughing ‘Okay, I gotta do it, don’t worry about it, I wanna do two.’ The idea of right place, right time makes everything happen.”
Kendrick Lamar’s GNX Makes More History
Contrary to popular belief, rap star Kendrick Lamar is remaining relevant, despite not beefing with Drake. Lamar released his sixth studio album, GNX in November. And it is already making history.
Kendrick’s sixth studio album is now the longest-running album in history on Billboard’s Top Rap Album Charts. The album has remained atop for 22 weeks. Surpassing Pop Smoke’s first posthumous album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon which remained atop for 21 weeks.
Of course, after Kendrick’s latest album made even more history, fans on social media weighed in with their reactions.
“GNX doing that with only 12 songs makes it even more incredible,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The GOAT with back-to-back classic albums, Kendrick Lamar you are the greatest of all time,” another person added.
“Drake lied Wallen tried Kendrick in 5.” another user added.
