R. Kelly is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and a bevy of other heinous crimes. However, being incarcerated is not stopping the R&B star from cranking out new records.

R. Kelly Remixes Chris Brown’s ‘Residuals’
In February, R&B singer Tank started a viral social media challenge where he remixed Chris Brown’s hit song Residuals. Several artists have participated in the challenge and now R. Kelly has decided to follow suit.
In the lyrics, Kelly questions where his earnings have been appropriated. He also says that despite being convicted, he doesn’t deserve to be in prison.
“They’re still selling my music, making all this money. Don’t even send shit to my folks for commissary. Though I’m in this place, I know I don’t deserve this. There’s questions on my mind / There are questions on my mind,” he sings.
Despite being on lockdown, Kellz has remained in the constant news cycle. Earlier this year, several photos of R. Kelly in lockup dropped, which drew the ire of several people. Especially those in the entertainment industry.
In the photos, the R&B star is wearing a pair of Kanye West’s Yeezy brand sneakers. Ye paid homage to Kelly for showing support, even in lockdown.
“My N***a Kells still got that Chicago spirit. They ain’t break him. And he got on Yeezy. On you Yeezy over everything,” Kanye tweeted after the photo went viral.
Kanye wasn’t the only person to chime in. After Kelly’s photo went viral, actor and comedian Michael Blackson said that he has begun to reevaluate how he feels about the R&B star.
“I was just looking at those R Kelly’s pics that surfaced yesterday while he’s in jail smh,” Blackson said.
“I lowkey feel so sad for how his life turned out. We can’t judge him because we don’t know the full story but from being a superstar to life in prison damn. My prayers to him and those affected by him.”
