Ron Killings, also known as WWE superstar R-Truth, has never been world heavyweight champion or headlined a Wrestlemania. Yet he remains one of the most prominent voices in the sports and entertainment industry.
R-Truth Set to Debut Song With Metro Boomin
He is one of the few WWE superstars who have curated their own entrance music. And his theme song, “What’s Up,” is one of the more popular tracks among fans. During a recent episode of the Nikki & Brie show, Killings revealed that he has a new song coming out. And it is produced by hip-hop heavyweight Metro Boomin.
“I know y’all know who Metro Boomin is, right? Future’s producer? He and I got a song,” Truth revealed, before announcing that the song will debut at this year’s Wrestlemania.
“We done it already. Yes, and that will be one dope to put out to do WrestleMania, and we talked about it a little bit. Performing at WrestleMania would be like, almost like I hit the jackpot.”
The connection between hip-hop and wrestling is becoming more and more prominent. Travis Scott was involved in the 2024 segment with John Cena & The Rock when Cena turned heel. And Cardi B hosted last year’s SummerSlam.
Ahead of her hosting gig, WWE Chief Creative Officer, Triple H, was asked if he could see wrestling in Cardi B’s future. And although he didn’t say yes, he didn’t exactly shut the idea down either.
“I don’t know if anybody can control Cardi B. Let me just start with that. So if she wants to, I think it’s going to be hard to talk her out of it. And then what can we expect? Who the hell knows,” he said of a potential wrestling career for the rap star.
“The one thing I know about Cardi is that whatever she’s going to do is what she’s going to do. I think, as everybody knows, she’s a big fan and has, you know, talked a lot about the business over the years and all that stuff and comments on it a lot,” he added. “So when you work with people like that, it’s exciting. We’ll see, we’ll see where that goes.
