Macklemore has exposed Ed Sheeran and others are coming out of the wood work to denounce the popstar. Ed’s cousin, Jethro Sheeran, who rapped on some of his earliest tracks, posted a long takedown of his family member.
The controversy began when Sheeran removed Macklemore from his tour after statements in support of Palestine at their recent MetLife show, went viral and resulted in a petition to kick Macklemore off the remaining shows. This was complicated further by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, a longtime doner to Israel causes, reportedly calling Sheeran and giving him an ultimatum: either you kick Macklemore off, or you don’t finish the tour in stadiums.
Sheeran complied and Macklemore detailed the whole situation, shining light on Sheeran’s lack of spine.
Since then, Sheeran attempted to explain the situation, taking both sides and offering platitudes that didn’t seem to satisfy anyone. The fallout was so bad, every opener on his tour pulled out in solidarity with Macklemore.
Jethro Sheeran Tears Ed Apart
Not to miss an opportunity to pile on Ed, his cousin, Jethro aired him out on Facebook.
“Finally it’s all coming out! I’m ashamed of my Cousin Ed and what he’s done,” Jethro posted. “Finally the world and all his fans see through him. He’s not a good person, I don’t like his music so I can’t say he’s even a good artist. He’s honestly a selfish individual with malicious, cunning ways. ‘He kills you with kindness’ (His Words) I’m his first blood cousin and he screwed me over, made fun of my mental health and mental health in general. He stopped me feeding my daughter by taking down all my songs in which my lawyer showed me proof from Warner that it was all him!! Ed Sheeran! He is shady and he’s dropped Macklemore himself I believe 100% he’s a coward. In my opinion he’s a bad human. Just my opinion from my experiences.”
Jethro went on to say he was the one who helped Ed start in music, giving him studio time and his first gigs. He even went as far to say he protected him from bullies at school.
“He only cared about himself and he puts out fake narrative that’s calculated just to keep everyone happy so he can do big private gigs and keep brand deals etc,” Jethro posted. “I agree with all the comments he’s got and bad press. Beware that he’s very calculated and cruel. That’s my honest opinion and I’m family!! He’s not a true Sheeran! Don’t hate on a Sheeran because of this silly little boy. Sorry to say but at least I have the balls to speak the truth!!! He’s a coward !!”
