Everyone thought the apocalypse would come with the four horsemen, but turns out, it’s ushered in by getting to bet on wars and elections. As we vote for the several state officials that could change our lives, the gambit of politics has become a cesspool for gambling. The rise of Kalshi, Polymarket, and other prediction markets which skirt legalities have turned everything into a gamified affair.

And of course, rappers have jumped on the trend, ones who’ve already been tagged as in debt to casinos, become sports cappers, or, have deals with the various betting platforms they use.

One of which is 42 Dugg, who for awhile made most of his X posts into sports gambling content. Now, with prediction markets, he’s jumping into the election. On X, Dugg announced he was betting on Abdul El-Sayed to win Michigan Senate, a play that his friend Babyface Ray followed.

Then, alleged problem gambler Offset posted he bet almost $7K on Keisha Lance-Bottoms for Georgia senate. Offset has multiple incidents revolving gambling debt, one of which got him shot. YG also posted he bet on Karen Bass to win mayor of Los Angeles.

Fans Sound Off On Bets By Rappers

Fans have been quick to point out the problem with these bets.

“There’s a dystopian future where they let you do this at the booth,” one user posted.

“Why Offset and 42 Dugg got real money on it but Babyface Ray only bet a dollar,” another user posted.

“Kalshi able to make their own Cruel Summer album at this point,” another user posted.

“Look at what rappers are doing instead of making for us GOOD music. We’re so cooked mane,” another user posted.

It’s important to note though, Offset, Dugg, and YG put thousands of dollars on their bets. Babyface Ray only put a dollar, indicating he’s just having fun.

Additionally, the account that posted the information, Kurrco, is under fire for disclosing the post was part of the paid partnership. Since the only market shown is Kalshi, one must assume Kurrco was paid by Kalshi to put up this post. Legally, you must disclose it’s a paid partnership, but for some fans, it’s souring their view of Kurrco as a platform.

“Good sellout kurrco,” one user posted.
