Because of this, his rare artifacts can reach high value, especially considering there’s rumors of a re-pressing occurring to commemorate the anniversary.
According to the Wax Poetics listing, Detroit DJ Babe received the record directly from Eminem after watching him compete at the city’s famed Hip Hop Shop in 1996. Babe recalled seeing an unknown white rapper who had been making noise at the weekly battles. Eminem won that day and later approached Babe with a copy of his record.
The record has reportedly stayed in Babe’s possession since that day. The auction copy carries the original WEB714V catalog number and includes tracks such as “313,” “Open Mic,” and “Jealousy Woes II.”
Other artifacts on sale include a sampler cassette pre release of the Slim Shady LP, A sealed 1995 cassette from Soul Intent recorded while he performed under the name M&M, and rare recordings of Eminem, Obie Trice, Proof, and Royce Da 5’9.
Bidding goes until the end of the day on Thursday, October 8th.
