TLC group member Chili went viral on social media in March. After records leaked showing that she made donations to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. While the revelation has led to a lot of backlash, one person who has come to her defense is music executive and media personality Ray Daniels.
Ray Daniels Calls Out Hypocrisy Over Chili Outrage
During a recent episode of his show, The Raydar Report, Daniels suggested that people being mad at Chili is “selective outrage.” And questions why male celebs like 50 Cent, who have publicly supported Trump, don’t receive the same backlash.
“I feel like black people want blood, and it’s selective outrage,” he said in a clip shared by TheChat101 on X. “The reason I say that is because everybody is supporting 50 Cent and his Shreveport move. And I love 50, and I always speak about 50 in a positive light. But 50 famously tweeted, ‘I’m going with Trump. I’m rolling with the winners.’ Black women still support him. Why?
Daniels also says that people who have been mad about Chili having “pretty privilege” throughout her life are using this moment to get revenge.
“It’s really because in my opinion, Chili is pretty,” he continues. “And her pretty privilege has allowed her to walk through this earth being a pretty woman with beautiful hair. Chili has never had trouble with men her whole life. She’s had privilege her whole life. And I think for the first time, they got her. And now all those motherf*****s who were ugly or felt like they were ugly are like ‘I’m bout to get this pretty — I’m bout to take this pretty motherfu***r down.”
Daniels also asserts that he doesn’t judge people based on their political affiliations. Because it goes “deeper” than what is shown on the surface.
“My point is, who cares if she voted for the republican side. Who gives a f**k? I don’t care; I don’t let politics divide me from people because I know that politics go deeper than a hello. Politics can be your background. People will tell me, ‘You should vote for a Republican, you make a lot of money,’ and I’m like, no, I’m going to vote with my heart, which is the democrats. But I just hate that we’re getting on Chili like that, and I feel like 50 Cent doesn’t go through it, so Chili shouldn’t.”
Ray Daniel says Chili from TLC is getting cancelled because she suffers from pretty privilege and how people want to humble her because 50 Cent has publicly supported Donald Trump and they don’t keep the same energy with that they do with her. pic.twitter.com/HZYKS80WsM
