Ray Daniels is not backing down from his report that JAY-Z has an album on the way.
Daniels, known for working with Epic Records, LA Reid, and signing NLE Choppa, claimed on his podcast he heard JAY-Z is sitting on gold.
“His album is done. It’s completely done. It’s just, we might get it if somebody partners with him,” Daniels said. “If nobody partners with him, it’s not coming.”
However, shortly after, Roc Nation posted a denial on their Instagram.
They posted a black screen answering fans: “‘Album Done,’” Fake News.”
The post indicates that anyone saying JAY-Z has an album ready to go is capping.
Now, Daniels, who worked at Roc Nation for 3 years, is making sure his credibility doesn’t take a hit, standing ten toes that a JAY-Z album is done.
“I know most of the employees on the label side. They my friends and everything,” Daniels said. “I didn’t get this information from none of them, I got this information from somebody that, honestly, the way they told me, it’s like they wanted me to say it,” he said. “I said it like a fan.”
Daniels emphasized the “might” when speaking on the matter because his source said, “the album done but you might not get it unless he finds a partner.”
“To me, it was like, ‘you better hype that s*** up for him,’” he said.
In fact, he feels Roc Nation’s response indicated that he was right all along.
Reasons JAY Could Drop An Album
Speculation is warranted considering he recently dropped a remix with his wife Beyonce for “Morning Dew (Donk).” He also spit several freestyles during his Roots Picnic set and Yankee Stadium shows. In addition, he’s partnering with HBO for a docuseries sitting down with Rick Rubin about his long career.
JAY is extending his tour to select cities as well.
The legendary rapper is clearly active and inspired, arguably the most active he’s been this decade, music wise.
