Ray J has issued an apology to his sister after his back-and-forth with Cam’ron, Mase, and Shyne.
In a post to his social media account on Monday (March 23), the One Wish singer was remorseful about his actions. And noted that they were not reflective of Brandy’s brand.

“My bad, B! – this apology is for you and ONLY YOU! – I was outta pocket. No spin, no extras. You’re my blood, and I moved in a way that didn’t reflect your brand in a positive way! Ray J wrote (via TheShadeRoom/IG). “I apologize for real. I’m making sure my actions line up with respect moving forward.- I accept the repercussions of these actions!”
Ray J took issue with the comments that Shyne made during his appearance on Cam’ron and Mase’s talk show, It is What it Is, earlier this month. Cam’ron referenced a long-time rumor that Mase and Shyne were both romantically involved with Brandy at the same time. And Shyne confirmed that the rumor was true. But insists he did not know about her and Mase.
After the segment went viral, Ray J went on stream. And hurled several insults at the trio of rappers. He even threatened to get gang members involved in his revenge plot.
In her response, Brandy insisted that she did not “condone or support” the comments made by her brother.
Although Ray J was apologetic about his actions, he noted that he would “always defend” the people whom he loves—but vowed to do it in a “respectful manner,” going forward.
“I will always defend you and anybody in my family I truly love! – But I have to learn how to express myself in a respectful manner, especially when you are involved!” he continued. “I still don’t like any of those guys and what they did was janky AsF- but what I said was not ok – hopefully I can be a part of your world in the near future or 2027. And to my mom and dad, I apologize too. Sincerely, On tha dead homiez.”
