The drama surrounding Bad Boy Records founder, Sean “Diddy” Combs began in November 2023. And it finally culminated on Wednesday (July 2). Diddy was found not guilty of racketeering, trafficking of Cassie, and the trafficking of Jane Doe. He was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution related to Cassie and was found guilty of the same charges as Jane Doe.
Ray J Sounds Off on “Bogus” Diddy Verdict
Diddy not being accused of the two most serious charges of racketeering and trafficking was a major win. But despite those acquittals, some of Diddy’s supporters remain unsatisfied with the verdict. Reality television star Ray J shared in a recent conversation with News Nation, Ray J says that he believes Combs should have been acquitted of all of the charges he was facing. Calling the prostitution charges “bogus.”
“They should let Puffy out now,” Ray J said. “I see everybody saying it’s a celebration, but at the same time, how? When he’s not out yet, and then the last two counts are still super bogus.”
During the trial, prosecutors argued that the alleged crimes that Combs was accused of committing, occurred at his infamous star-studded parties. Better known as “freak-offs.” Since that information was revealed, many fans have been giving the side eye to celebs who have been spotted at said parties in resurfaced pictures. During an appearance on Newsnation’s Cuomo in November, Ray J said he doubts most celebs have ever been to an official freak-off.
“I think that there might have been times where people have partied with a certain team of people. And there might have been a ‘freak off,’ right? But I can guarantee you, most of the celebrities that went to Diddy’s parties never even heard of a ‘freak off,” Ray J said.
He also added: “Everybody that’s super legitimate, that’s an A-List celebrity, from my knowledge. I just know that I have never seen a ‘freak off’ — what does that really mean?“Is that really real? Are we creating a new narrative for something that’s not there? Was there really dope in the baby oil? What are we doing?”
