Reginae Carter recently revealed that she once lost out on a potential Disney partnership due to lingering backlash tied to a controversial lyric from a Young Money song.

The situation dates back to 2009, when Young Money released the hit record “Every Girl.” Mack Maine drew criticism for the line, “In about three years, holler at me, Miley Cyrus,” referencing the singer when she was 16 years old. Although the song was successful, the lyric sparked controversy that followed the label for years.

According to Reginae, the fallout from that moment ultimately cost her a major opportunity with Disney. While she was not involved in the song or its creation, the association reportedly played a role in the decision. Reginae did not specify when the Disney discussions took place, leaving it unclear how recent the potential partnership was, but her comments highlight how past controversies can continue to impact careers long after the original moment has passed.
