Reshona Landfair, the woman who was infamously identified as the 14-year-old girl in a disturbing videotape involving R. Kelly, is speaking out ahead of the release of her upcoming memoir in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone.
Landfair, who testified against Kelly during his 2022 trial, reflected on the emotional weight of facing him in court. She recalled a moment when he looked directly at her, describing it as a “nasty look” that ultimately reaffirmed her decision to testify. “When he gave me that look, it was confirmation that I was sitting in the right place,” she said, adding that the glance revealed his continued belief that he was owed loyalty despite the harm he caused.
According to Landfair, that moment made it easier to speak her truth. She said Kelly still appeared to see himself as untouchable, failing to grasp the gravity of his actions. “You don’t get it,” she explained. “You think you’re untouchable. You’re still lying.”
While Landfair said she hopes time has allowed Kelly to reflect, she acknowledged that he may still deny responsibility by framing the abuse as consensual. “In his mind, he’s looking at it like, ‘You wanted me to do this… I didn’t force you,’” she said. “Well, actually, you did.”
Through her memoir, Reshona Landfair aims to reclaim her voice, confront the lasting impact of the abuse, and underscore the importance of accountability and truth for survivors everywhere.
