Rick Ross stopped by the Joe Budden podcast following the release of his new album Set in Stone. And one of the things that he was grilled about was his longstanding feud with Drake.
Ross Opens Up About His Feud With Drake
After inserting himself into Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar back in 2024, many fans suggested that Ross and Drake’s beef was “fake.” And that the rapper is using Drake to make his music relevant again. But Ross hit back against that claim.
“No, no, don’t get it f***ed up. Nothing about that was fake,” Ross said (Via Hot97). “If a n***a f**k with you, a n***a f**k with you. If it’s something that goes left, that’s when it goes left. It can go left right now on this podcast. It wasn’t fake. Before that, n***as showing love.”
Ross then used the example of how Budden once had a close relationship with his former podcast co-hosts, Rory and Mal. And how that relationship eventually soured.
“Some things are not to be looking for the connection,” he continued. “That’s like me looking for the connection between the last weird n***as you used to do the podcast with. You loved them n***as, didn’t you? That’s business. You moved on. That’s what you’ve got to do as a boss. You wish all them n***as the best if it ain’t no real pressure. Continue to do you, keep winning. But once it goes left, it goes left.”
Ross and Drake have had an ongoing feud since he inserted himself into his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024. Ross dropped his Drake diss track Champagne Moments, and the feud between them has been going on ever since.
