Hitmakers Rick Ross and French Montana faced each other in a Verzuz matchup on Thursday Night (May 7). In what was advertised as “a celebration of the biggest club anthems ever.”
Rick Ross Omits Drake’s Vocals During Verzuz
As is the case with most things involving Rick Ross, the Verzuz matchup provided plenty of viral moments. One of them came when Rick Ross played Aston Martin Music. However, Rozay requested that his DJ omit Drake’s vocals from the record.
“I wanna do ‘Aston Martin Music,’ minus Drake’s vocals. No Drake vocals,” he said in a clip caught by Kurrco on X.
The Verzuz crowd let out a loud groan after Ross made the request. And the rapper responded by welcoming the audience to sing Drake’s vocals.
“If you wanna sing that, I’ll let you sing that,” he added.

Ross may have declined to play Drake’s vocals on Thursday Night. But The Biggest Boss continues to play the songs that he has created with Drizzy during his shows. And sometimes he does let Drake’s verses play. But Rozay says that people shouldn’t make too much of it. It’s just his way of paying homage to the art that he has created in the past.
“I’m a real n***a. And being a real n***a, you never change your past. The music I’ve created in the past, I could never change. And I’ve enjoyed it, and I’m going to still enjoy it,” he said during a recent appearance on Thoughts in A Culli. “Can’t know, lame n****a or no n***a having differences make me not enjoy something that I was a part of. So that’s that. I control how it goes from here on. That’s what the boss decides. “
