HavinMotion, a rising talent from the DMV rap scene, was tragically killed Thursday (April 23rd) in Southeast DC. He was 22-years-old.
What Happened To HavinMotion?
On Friday morning, at around 10:15 pm, in the 3300 block of Wheeler Road SE, DC, Seventh District officers responded to reports of gunfire. As they arrived, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene but could not resuscitate the victim. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Dwayne Issacs, better known as the up and coming rapper, HavinMotion. The incident is currently under investigation.
The young rapper had quite a bit of buzz coming out of the DMV, regularly touted as one of the biggest hopes from the area.
Songs such as “Vibe 2,” “I Just Want U,” “10 Hour Drive,” and others gave the Maryland rapper a lot of buzz, regularly notching Millions of streams on several songs.
In February, he put out his latest album, How Life Been, which showed growth with improved sampling, flow, and technical ability for the young rapper.

How Did Fans React To HavinMotion’s Death?
An outpouring of grief flooded social media, as fans struggled to comprehend the horrific news.
“In the DMV, whether it’s because of prison or deaths, there’s so much talent wasted out there, and once again with HavinMotion, honestly, I’m disgusted,” one user posted.
“HavinMotion was one of the best in one of the most stacked rap scenes on the planet,” another used posted. “Genuinely cannot believe he’s not with us anymore. f****** 22 years old man smh.”
“They really killed HavinMotion,” another user posted. “This shit is my 9/11.”
