After a brief hiatus Rod Wave announced he’s returning to music. In a post on Tuesday (June 16th) he gave fans the news they’ve been waiting for.
What Did Rod Wave Say?
On Instagram, Rod Wave posted a short teaser for his album, dressed as a mob boss at a funeral. Flanked by his consiglieres, Rod Wave is asked what’s the plan. He turns to the camera and says “the album,” before a short snippet of his upcoming single plays. He captioned the post as follows.
“8/28/26… Don’t Look Down dropping. Limited Edition Vinyl & CD pre-order link in bio. 1000 Signed Copies Available,” Rod Wave posted.
This is the first album from Wave since 2024’s Last Lap. Last year, he dealt with many issues, including a mistaken arrest for assault (he was defending himself from attempted burglary), gun possession and drug charges, and a photographer claiming he used his material without his permission.
For the good side, he received his first Grammy nomination for the title track for the soundtrack to the Oscar-Winning film, Sinners.
