The 25-year-old rapper, born Rodarius Marcell Green, was arrested Tuesday (May 20) in Georgia on multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony. According to Fulton County court records, he’s looking at 13 counts total. Among them: pointing a gun at someone, criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, and tampering with evidence.
Rod was booked and later released the same day on a $50,000 bond.
While full details of the incident haven’t been released, early reports suggest the situation may have involved a woman. Authorities haven’t confirmed any other identities, and law enforcement has remained quiet on further info.
Rod’s legal team is pushing back hard. “There is no truth to these charges,” his attorney Drew Findling told Billboard. “Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
This arrest adds to Rod Wave’s growing list of legal battles. Just last year, he was arrested in Florida on a gun charge that was later dropped after it was revealed he’d been misidentified as a convicted felon.
