Drake is one of the biggest artists of all time. So when he performs live, it is always a spectacle to behold. So naturally, many fans have wondered why Drizzy has never performed at Rolling Loud, one of the biggest music festivals of the year.
Rolling Loud Founder Reveals Why Drake Has Never Performed
Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif recently appeared on a stream with influencers Adin Ross and DJ Akademiks. And during the stream, he was asked why Drake has never performed at the music festival. That is when Cherift revealed that he sends the “max offer” to Drake every year. But he never accepts it. Cherif never gives an exact number of exactly how much the offer is. But he does not know that it is “millions of dollars.”
Some of the biggest Rolling Loud headliners include Travis Scott, Future, Playboi Carti, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, and A$AP Rocky. So the festival obviously has the reputation of getting some of the top-billed artists to headline, which makes it even more of a head-scratcher as to why Drake would not do the festival.
Meanwhile, Drake is getting ready to enter another legal battle with Universal Music Group.
According to a November 17 report from AllHipHop‘s Grouchy Greg Watkins, a Judge has ordered the two parties to participate in a three-hour mediation on December 19.
According to the outlet, both Drake and UMG must be “prepared to discuss the legal strength of their positions, potential settlement options, and whether any issues can be narrowed or clarified.”
Drake initially filed a lawsuit against the music label over the distribution of Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, accusing them of defamation. However, a judge ruled in UMG’s favor. Now Drake is in the process of appeals, looking to recoup something out of his beef with Kendrick.
It will be interesting to see the outcome.
