For awhile, Kanye West seemed to be in the clear with his comeback tour, as cancellations dwindled despite controversy still being present. However, that streak has ended, after pressure from Russian officials for West to speak out against Ukraine.
West was slated to perform in Saint Petersburg, Russia on October 10th and 11th at the Gazprom Arena.
However, according to a report by Billboard, the venue has no interest in hosting these shows. In fact, they claim they didn’t sign any contracts and have no idea why West’s team promoted the event.
“There is no such agreement,” the venue said. “Accordingly, the concert cannot take place on our site.”
However, the promoters of the show, Say Agency, allegedly said in a Telegram exchange that they were blindsided by the announcement and are expecting the shows to go on.
“We learned about [it] at the same time as you did, through the media,” Say Agency posted. “As of now, the Ye concert has not been canceled. We are trying to contact the venue to find out the reason for the post and resolve the issue. We will keep you updated.”
For now, you can buy tickets on West website, though it’s unknown when the listing will change.

Other Countries Say No To Kanye West
West had shows canceled in France, the UK, Poland, Italy, Prague, and India. This stems from his history of antisemitic remarks over the past few years. He has since apologized and blamed a lack of medication and extended bout of mania for the bigotry.
Some countries have let West play though. He’s successfully performed in Georgia, Türkiye, Spain, Albania, and other countries.
