The Hip-Hop community is mourning the loss of longtime radio personality Lord Sear, whose passing was announced through a message shared on his Instagram page.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lord Sear. He was more than a voice on the radio — he was a force, a friend, and family to so many of us,” the statement read.
Lord Sear’s influence in Hip-Hop spanned decades. Early in his career, he was a member of the rap group Kurious, before becoming involved with the legendary The Stretch and Bobbito Show, one of the most influential Hip-Hop radio programs of the 1990s. He later toured worldwide on Eminem’s iconic Anger Management Tour.
For more than two decades, Lord Sear was a key voice on Shade 45, the Hip-Hop station on SiriusXM, where he became a cornerstone of the channel’s programming and helped shape the culture through interviews, commentary, and music.
To honor his life and contributions, friends and colleagues will gather on Shade 45 during his regular time slot to share memories and celebrate his legacy. Listeners are encouraged to tune in from 12–4 PM ET / 9 AM–1 PM PT as the Hip-Hop community comes together in remembrance.
“Rest easy, Lord Sear. The culture will never forget you,” the tribute concluded. 🕊️
