Talk about adding insult to injury. Former college football star, Shedeur Sanders, made his debut for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, November 16. Unfortunately, the Browns’ rookie quarterback was unable to lead the team to victory. As they fell short to Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 16-23. But unfortunately, that wasn’t the only L that Shedeur took on Sunday.

Break-in Occurred At Sanders’ Home During the Browns Game

According to a November 17 story from Pro Football Talk, there was a “break-in” at the Browns QB’s home while the game was going on. The outlet noted that the details surrounding the incident are still being gathered.

“I will never understand why these millionaire players don’t have security at their houses during games, when thieves know they won’t be at home,” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I don’t think people realize how often players’ houses get broken into. Happens at the collegiate and professional level. They have very obvious, predictable schedules. Not good, but it’s true,” another user added.

“You make attempts to do good by your community, and they reward you by breaking into your home. Likely was a plotted event, smh,” another user said.

One clear thing is that the homes of professional athletes are being targeted. And it is easy to see why. Potential thieves have access to know the dates and times that certain athletes won’t be at home and use that information to steal from them.

Shedeur is not the only victim of this type of crime. Other victims include Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan. With the majority of the burglaries going unresolved.

This is clearly an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed by the NFL at some point.
