Sheff G is continuing to stay connected to his fans through music, even while behind bars. On Monday (Feb. 16), the Brooklyn rapper shared an Instagram post featuring audio from a jail call where he performed a new rap acapella, offering a raw glimpse into his mindset during incarceration.
In the recording, Sheff G reflects on loyalty, betrayal, and resilience while serving time. “This jail time got ‘em forgetting the wins that I led/So many lies out the mouths of backstabbers I fed,” he raps. He also addressed people who distanced themselves after his arrest, adding, “They said they’ll be there for me that was just words being said/Same ones went fleeing, disappeared once they seized me instead.” Despite the circumstances, Sheff remains defiant, declaring, “But I’ll be back like Arnold Schwarzenegger… I won’t quit or forfeit.”
The freestyle comes months after Sheff G was sentenced in October to five years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy charges. Since beginning his sentence, he has remained active on social media through posts shared on his behalf.
In recent months, Sheff has also shared personal updates, including screenshots showing he has wired thousands of dollars to his girlfriend while incarcerated. In November, he spoke out about what he described as inhumane treatment, and last month he revealed that he would not receive credit for time already served, meaning he must complete the full length of his sentence.
Despite the setback, Sheff G’s latest jailhouse freestyle makes it clear he’s determined to maintain his presence in hip-hop—and plans to return stronger once he’s released.
