Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux has responded after 50 Cent suggested he may scale back his investment and redevelopment plans for the Red River District in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The rapper and entertainment mogul expressed his frustration in an Instagram post, writing, “There are people in Shreveport that just don’t want things to get better. I only make deals that make sense. I’m gonna have to pull back on The Red River! ✌️ Peace.”

The post has raised concerns about the future of the proposed redevelopment and what it could mean for downtown Shreveport. Fifty Cent has invested heavily in the city in recent years, including entertainment and business ventures intended to create jobs, attract visitors and revitalize underdeveloped areas.

Mayor Arceneaux’s reaction comes as city leaders and residents await more information regarding the issues behind 50 Cent’s decision and whether the Red River District plans can still move forward.
