Amid his legal troubles, many of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former cohorts have begun to speak out about him. The latest person is former Bad Boy Artist Shyne.
Shyne Praises 50 Cent For His Diddy Bashing
During a recent interview, Shyne had high praise for Diddy’s longtime nemesis 50 Cent. And noted that he wished that he had a person like 50 in his corner when he was going through his own legal troubles because of Combs.
“I just don’t enter the chat randomly. But in private conversations, I’ve defended 50. I wish I had a 50 when Diddy did me dirty and sent me to prison for all that time,” Shyne said during a recent sitdown with AllHipHop.
“Yes, there was a moment where I was larger than life while incarcerated… I was giving them the work. Every opportunity I get, I let people know how terrible a human being I thought he was. But after that, when I got out, people kind of got over it. I was deported and lost my voice. And so people didn’t really want to hear about Diddy. They had kind of gotten over it at that point. But he’s the reason I’m deported.”
Shyne Reveals Why He Didn’t Watch Diddy Doc
50 Cent took his beef with Diddy to another level. When he executive-produced the Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning. A film that does a deep dive into the years of crimes committed by the Bad Boy Records founder. However, despite his support for 50 Cent, Shyne says that he had not seen the film. Because he didn’t want to relive that “trauma” that Diddy put him through.
“I didn’t watch it because that’s my trauma,” he said during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “Without getting into what he did to Cassie and all the other people that accused him, I know what he did to me as far as sending me to prison.”
Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2001 following a 1999 shooting at Club New York in Manhattan that injured three bystanders. He was convicted of assault, reckless endangerment, and gun possession after a dispute involving Diddy. However, even after serving the time, Shyne has maintained his innocence.
