Shyne recently took to Instagram to reflect on a major turning point in his life, marking one year since he lost his Mesopotamia seat in Belize’s House of Representatives.
In the post, Shyne claimed the loss came as a result of fraud by political opponents within the United Democratic Party, saying he was devastated by the outcome but quickly focused on his next steps. Despite the setback, he said he remained committed to serving the people of Mesopotamia and returned to the constituency the following day to continue supporting the community he was born into.
Shyne also revealed that the moment pushed him to return to the private sector, including ventures in entertainment, tourism, and real estate development. As he approached the 25th anniversary of his debut album Shyne, released in 2000, he decided to reenter the music world with three new projects titled The Honorable, Rap Prime Minister, and Actual Intelligence.
According to Shyne, he created a wish list of top producers he hoped to collaborate with, including Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, RZA, Pharrell Williams, and Jermaine Dupri among others. He says that one year later he has already checked off most of the names on that list.
Shyne shared that he recently left a studio session in California with renowned producer Poo Bear, whose catalog includes work with artists like Justin Bieber, Usher, and Chris Brown.
Looking ahead, Shyne says he has several projects in motion, including a tour beginning in May, new music planned for release in December, films and a memoir slated for 2027, along with additional business ventures in resorts, restaurants, and real estate. He ended the message by saying that what his enemies meant to destroy him has instead turned into new opportunities and blessings.
