According to reports, a dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside the artist’s vehicle and opened fire, unloading more than 20 rounds. The barrage of bullets struck Skilla Baby’s car while he was behind the wheel. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby building.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the car riddled with bullet holes. Skilla Baby, who was alone in the vehicle, had already been taken to a local hospital.
Sources say the rapper was grazed in the head and back and sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. His condition has not been publicly disclosed, but he was well enough to appear onstage just two days later.
In a show of resilience, Skilla Baby joined fellow Detroit rapper 42 Dugg onstage less than 48 hours after the incident, wearing an all-black outfit and a cast on his arm. A video posted to Dugg’s Instagram Story captured the crowd erupting in support as Skilla Baby took the stage.
Police are still investigating the shooting. No suspects have been identified, and a motive remains unclear. Skilla Baby has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
