Warren G recently shared a personal sentiment about his former relationship with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre

The “Regulate” rapper said he wasn’t looking for recognition during his recent appearance on the Ugly Money Podcast. Instead, he claimed he simply misses spending time with his childhood friend and stepbrother.

“Snoop and Dre get down and they doing things,” he said, acknowledging their busy lives. “And it’s no diss to neither one of them or anything like that, but it’s like, y’all could call Warren to come do a cameo or come hang out or something. I don’t want no money or nothing from nobody—just call me to be around.”

The “Regulate” rapper revealed that he’s been in some contact with his former collaborators. Snoop hooked him up with a ticket to Super Bowl LVI, where he and Dre co-headlined the halftime show alongside Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar.

Warren, who admittedly appreciated the invite, says he was looking to reconnect with Snoop and Dre at the game. But when he tried to go backstage, things took a disappointing turn—no one picked up his calls.

“I was like, ‘I’m going to take my son down there so he could see Dre and see Snoop and everybody,'” Warren recalled. “‘Cause he hadn’t seen him since he was in the NFL. So I couldn’t even get backstage. I called everybody I knew. Nobody would answer their phones. I couldn’t get backstage, none of that.”

Importantly, he clarified that his motivation wasn’t about performing. What mattered to him was giving his son, former NFL cornerback Olaijah Griffin, a meaningful experience.

As a founding member of the influential group 213, alongside Snoop and Nate Dogg, Warren G played a pivotal role in introducing Snoop to Dr. Dre—an introduction that eventually led to Snoop’s iconic signing with Death Row Records.
