One source close to former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is throwing a flag on the play when it comes to the recent comments made by Jay-Z.
Jay-Z Gets Blasted Over Colin Kaepernick Lyrics
During the opening night of his three-date run at Yankee Stadium this past weekend, Jay-Z dropped another freestyle. He addressed people who have criticized him for playing both sides of the fence with the former NFL quarterback. And called out Kaepernick for settling his lawsuit with the league in exchange for his silence.
“They ran out of characters, had to bring back up Kap again. Buddy took a check. I ain’t even mad at him, but along with that check, you have to sign a non-disparagement. I’m the one they can’t control,” Hov said during the freestyle.
However, one source close to the former 49ers quarterback says that the claims made by Jay-Z are inaccurate. And denied that a non-disparagement agreement between Colin and the NFL ever existed. And pointed to the NFL QB’s social media posts as proof to back the claim.
One source told TMZ: “Colin couldn’t post about how many days it’s been since a team hired him,” had he signed an NDA as Jay-Z claimed.
JAŸ-Z’s claim that Colin Kaepernick was required to stay silent after settling his collusion lawsuit against the NFL is being disputed by sources with direct knowledge, who tell TMZ that no non-disparagement clause was included in his deal:

Jay-Z’s comments appeared to be aimed at Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex. Earlier this month, Flex insisted that when other media personalities initially called Jay out over his comments about Kaepernick and being “past kneeling,” he made “personal calls” to control how it was “spun.”
“That’s why this all gets weird. If you’re saying something about him, he gets upset, his team gets upset… You and your team made personal calls to air personalities. To make sure how they spun it,” he said in a clip caught by HotNewHipHop.
At the time of writing, Kaepernick has not spoken out about Jay-Z’s claims.
