Spike Lee is a documented avid New York sports fan. And with the baseball season officially underway, he recently went to check out his New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. However, his visit to the stadium did not come without confrontation.
Spike Lee Confronts Fan For Yelling at Him Outside Yankee Game
It is a common practice for fans to stand outside the special entrance that is used by celebrities to enter the venue. In hopes of catching a photo op or getting memorabilia signed as a keepsake. But one fan got a little too overzealous when addressing the film director.
In a clip shared by Infrequent Media on Instagram on Friday (April 3), Spike confronts a fan for yelling at him.
“You know you’re not getting anything from me yelling at me, right?” Spike says to the fan.
The fan then hit back at the film director by stating, “I don’t want s**t from you! Why would I want anything from anybody? … I was just asking a question.”
Spike then tells the fan, “You’re still yelling,” to which the fan responds, “I’m sorry, I talk aggressively. I apologize. You want me to talk softly? I’m a man.”
The police then had to interject before Spike ended the conversation by saying, “It has nothing to do with being a man, grow up!”
The clip quickly went viral on social media, leading to several reactions from fans. With the majority of them siding with the film director.
“You Do In Fact Want Something For Him Because You Asked Him A Question,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“Respect ya elders truly doesn’t mean s**t anymore lol smh,” a second person chimed in.
“I think people forget Spike is a Senior now because he looks young. Respect to Spike and I think the youngster understands now,” a third user added.
