Rap star Cardi B’s relationship with her new beau has been up and down, to put it lightly.
Last month, the couple appeared to be experiencing one of those down moments. Cardi appeared to have a major blowup with the former New England Patriots wide receiver. In a viral moment outside of a Maryland coffee shop.
Diggs Downplays Viral Spat With Cardi
But Diggs appeared cool, calm, and collected while Cardi appeared to express her frustrations. And his recent comments to TMZ were just as nonchalant. When the outlet recently approached the NFL free agent about the viral moment, he declared that it wasn’t even an argument.
“What argument? I don’t even think that’s an argument,” Diggs said to the outlet. “It’s okay, women get like that sometimes.”
After the clip of their argument outside the coffee shop went viral, Cardi also downplayed the moment. And chalked it up to her just being hungry.
“Sometimes I forget I’m a celebrity. Damn y’all ain’t never cuss your babydad out when you hungry?,” the rap star wrote on social media back in May.
Howevr, earlier this year, rumors suggested that Cardi and Diggs had hit a snag in their relationship. Especially after the pair were rarely seen together during Super Bowl Weekend in February, after Cardi had been his number one supporter all season. One source told PEOPLE that Cardi had “pulled away” from their relationship back in February due to trust issues.
Despite her being wary of things going on behind her back, the source says that Cardi had “never closed the door completely” on her relationship with Diggs. And that he recently “stepped it up” and “showed her that he wants to make it work.”
But, when speaking to the outlet, Diggs remained mum on the state of their relationship. He did, however, give her a shoutout for being a great mother to the newborn they recently welcomed.
