Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is the latest celeb to weigh in on Kendrick Lamar’s hit record Not Like Us, which aims at rap star Drake.
Last Summer, at the height of Kendrick and Drake’s beef, a viral clip surfaced. Of the members of the United States Men’s basketball team, weighing in on the track. Steph was the odd man out, noting that he was fatigued with hearing the song.
“Damn with this song. It’s not the only song in America,” he said in the video.
Steph Curry Explains His Issue With Kendrick’s Not Like Us
During a recent interview with Complex’s Speedy Mormon, Steph doubled down on his criticism of Lamar’s track. He notes that the source of his fatigue with the hit record is the fact that he is close with Drake.
“We go way back, though, and it’s actually kind of a family thing too. One of Ayesha’s cousins is from Toronto and the whole deal. So, we’re all in the same boat,” Curry explained.
“Everywhere we went, it was all I heard. And the fact that they know who I was with. You can’t do anything about what the DJ’s playing. But I was like, I got sick of it at a certain point. It’s funny, the cameras caught me because that was from the soul.
Another NBA star who has come to the defense of Drake is Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving. During a recent stream, Irving said that in the aftermath of the battle, the two rap stars should not continue to be compared to each other.
