Stove God Cooks is done holding back his frustration with the countless delays of his new album. During an interview for Frequency with Quincy Harris, Stove God Cooks let everyone know what’s been going on with him.

Where Is Stove God Cooks Album?

During the interview, Stove God Cooks ended the speculation that he wasn’t able to drop, confirming that miscommunications with his label, Babygrande, has led to delays.

“I announced it, I went to Turks for like 3 weeks, came back and was like ‘Yo, we ready?’ And they had a whole list of s*** [that still needed to be done],” Stove God Cooks said. “A lot of this s*** be me sometimes, like with the label. I coulda been outta this s***…I came back thinking everything gonna be done smooth and s*** ain’t. It take long and that’s what gets me in my feelings. I seen other m******** just do this s*** [put out albums without waiting so long]. But I also seen m******* get sued or spend six figures on sample s***, they have to rip the beat off, so I understand it.”

He continued to say he’s just as frustrated as his fans, and has cussed out people at his label for the delays.

When Did JAY-Z Get Involved?

During this process, he asked to talk to JAY-Z, the founder and chairman of Roc Nation. Hov picked up the phone asking what he wanted to do. Stove God Cooks made it clear: “Give them the album.”

“It’s not about bad business,” Stove God Cooks said. “I’m in a deal I don’t want to be in. Because I got into some personal s*** with [an executive at the label]. We cleaned it up since, but in the moment that’s how it started. My management at the time took me to [Babygrande]. So once I got rid of everybody it was like ‘oh you came from them, all you m********* gotta go.”

He went on to say it wasn’t a bad deal and the issues fully stem from a fallout with his former management, and his lack of trust with anyone associated with them. Stove God Cooks also felt disrespected by a certain white executive at the label that he says underestimated him.

Then, he said the beef has been squashed for now. His fans seemed to help a lot because they put pressure on the label, which made them fear that they’d be blamed for “destroying his career.”

“Once this album comes out it’s gonna be non stop,” Stove God Cooks said. “We had the renegotiation and it’s good… I think Imma try to drop at least three [albums] this year… I just wanna feed my fans fr.”

He also said he has three or four albums already done.

The controversy comes after Stove God Cooks’ follow up to his breakout album Reasonable Drought, was pushed back again from its March 26th release date.
