Streamers have become a staple in today’s rap game in the same way that radio DJs were a staple in the earlier days of hip-hop. And streaming star, PlaqueBoyMax, has made waves with his show, In The Booth, where artist can show off their lyrical skills.
PlaqueboyMax Set to Launch His Record Label
PlaqueBoyMax has already aligned himself with the likes of Quavo, Rob49, and Lil Baby. So now the streaming sensation is ready to take things to the next level. He took to social media on Thursday (August 21) to reveal that he will be starting his record label.
“So I’m starting my record label. Reply or quote tweet with a video submission of your music. Show your sh*t off,” he said in a video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. “So show me what you got. Do not send me a link; we’re not clicking on links. I’m going through tonight on stream. Finalists, tomorrow is for the try out, winners get flown out this weekend to make music live to make music on my stream, In The Booth. Let’s get it.”

Rappers are no longer going to radio stations or podcast studios to promote new music. So instead, they are looking to streamers such as PlaqueboyMax and Kai Cenat, who have a much wider reach because of their expansive audiences.
However, not everyone sees things that way. During a recent appearance on Jim Jones’ Artist 2 Artist podcast, rapper Fivio Foreign says that streamers are only relevant because of the “cool people” who they have on their stream.
“Rappers are cool, right? Streamers… I’m just telling you nothing but facts… the streamers got lit off of having the cool people on their stream,” he said. “It’s the streamer that’s lit, they [fans] like the platform. People like the platform. People don’t really like the individual.”
