The hip-hop world was waiting on pins and needles. To find out the sentencing in the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. On Friday, October 3, the Bad Boy Records founder learned his fate. Trial judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to four years in prison.
Suge Knight Blasts Diddy After Receiving Prison Sentence
After learning how long Diddy would spend behind bars, reactions began to pour in from the hip-hop community. One of the people who chimed in was Diddy’s long-time rival Suge Knight. Who is currently behind bars for a manslaughter charge that stems from a 2015 hit-and-run incident.
In a new interview with the Art of Dialogue, Knight talked about the stark difference. In how Diddy’s sentencing was handled vs other cases — namely his.
“I wasn’t allowed to speak, I wasn’t allowed to do anything,” Knight remarked. “Puff was able to speak to the court and send a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian before the judge handed his sentence down.”
Diddy may not be happy with the four-year prison sentence he received from Judge Subramanian. But it is still a win for him considering the charges he was facing.
The feds initially slapped the music mogul with the charges of racketeering and trafficking in addition to the prostitution charge. Thankfully for Diddy, he was able to evade the more serious charges. Which almost certainly would have landed him in prison for the rest of his life.
However, Suge added that Diddy not being charged with a RICO is further proof that he is working with the government.
“Like I said before, Puffy has strong ties with the government, with the feds. And anybody else would have been cooked, done,” he added.
Diddy and Suge Knight’s beef spans back to the 1990s when Death Row and Bad Boy Records took center stage in the East Coast, West Coast beef. Despite time passing, Suge appears to still have sour feelings toward the music mogul.
