On Thursday (June 18th), the Hip Hop world reportedly lost one of the most prominent hitmaking producers of the era. At the age of 29, Tay Keith has reportedly passed away.
What Happened To Tay Keith?
In the late afternoon on Thursday, several sources reported that Tay Keith is no longer with us. There’s no details at this time of writing of how or why it happened. The reports began when Keith’s longtime collaborator and first hit making rapper, BlocBoy JB, posted pictures of Keith and him on his story.
“Damn cuz you just hurt me bad,” BlocBoy JB posted.
Rapper Young Soul also posted about the news. He attended Keith’s graduation in 2018.
“I love you bro @taykeith,” Young soul posted with a bird and broken heart emoji. “We been locked since 2011. I got some of your first beats ever. You vouched for me from Day 1 and I did the same. I’m grateful I got to know you & be a part of your story, & I’m grateful we were able to do some things I’ll always have memory of.”

Reportedly, he was found dead in his apartment after an associate called a wellness check on him.
No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy nominated record producer Tay Keith. He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.

Remembering A Memphis Legend
Tay Keith rose to prominence in 2016 with his smash hit “Look Alive,” with BlocBoy JB. From there, Keith engineered some of the biggest hits of the era. He produced Drake’s “Non Stop,” Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town2,” Lil Baby’s “Never Recover,” and many more.
His impact on Memphis rap and Midwest rap in general was felt throughout the world, leaving his mark.
He was known for his famous producer tag: “Tay keith f*** these n***** up!.”
