The Los Angeles Police Department has identified the woman accused of opening fire on Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home as 35-year-old Ivana Lisette Ortiz.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. PT on Sunday while Rihanna was reportedly inside the residence. According to the Los Angeles Times, the suspect allegedly fired multiple shots from a white Tesla parked across from the property’s gate.
Investigators say at least one bullet penetrated a wall of the home, while additional bullet holes were discovered in the gate and in an RV parked outside the residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Following the shooting, police used a helicopter to track the suspect’s Tesla as it fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive. Officers located the vehicle roughly 30 minutes later at a shopping center in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was taken into custody.
Police later searched the vehicle and reportedly recovered an assault rifle along with seven shell casings. Ortiz has since been booked on attempted murder charges, with bail set at more than $10 million.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine the motive behind the shooting. Rihanna was not harmed during the incident.
