T.I. is set to release his next studio album, Kill The King, this Friday (June 26). Which is unfortunate if you are a T.I. fan, because this will be his 12th and final studio album.
T.I. Reveals Why He is Retiring From Music
T.I. is still one of the best artists in the game. So the decision to retire from music so suddenly was puzzling to many of his fans. The rapper appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Monday (June 22) and explained why he is stepping away from his rap career.
And in his words, it was just time for him to step away. As he feels he has accomplished everything he set out to do in rap.
“It’s time. Just remembering where I was as a kid and just requesting songs on the radio, waiting to see my favorite video, buying the Source magazine…praying for an opportunity to be in the game. Going from that kid then to this man now, I got everything I prayed for,” the rap star said in a clip caught by Big_Business_ on X.

T.I. initially revealed that he would be retiring after this next album during an appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards back in February.
When asked what he would pursue next, T.I. said that there isn’t one particular field that he is set on. But said that he has “a lot of gifts,” that he could choose to capitalize on in the future.
“I mean, I think I have a lot of gifts that God has given me, man. That I can spend my time and attention on. And spending time with my family. My grandchildren, you know what I mean. There is plenty of stuff to do.”
