T-Pain is the definition of a hitmaker. Hit records such as Buy You A Drank, Can’t Believe It, and I’m Sprung have proven to withstand the test of time, as they are still being played today.
T-Pain Explains Why He Won’t Perform Halftime Show
Because of T-Pain’s extensive music catalog, many people have pressured Jay-Z to select him as the headliner for a future Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, they shouldn’t expect that to take place. And it isn’t because of Jay-Z.
During a recent appearance on Club Shay Shay, T-Pain revealed that he would not be interested in doing a set at the Super Bowl. As for why? T-Pain says that he doesn’t want to subject himself to that type of pressure.
“Nah [I don’t want to do it]. It’s too much pressure,” he said. “It’s a great honor, it’d be an amazing honor, but you’ve got to think about me trying to squeeze 20 years of absolute hit records in 15 minutes.”
T-Pain also said that he would not want to be an artist who gives fans a feeling of nostalgia. Citing that during Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance, many people had forgotten about a lot of the songs that were included in his set.
“Remember when Justin Timberlake did it? And that whole 15 minutes, I was like, ‘Oh, I forgot about that [song] … ‘Oh sh*t, what, that was his? Oh godddamn, for real?’ Yeah, I don’t want that,” he added. “I don’t want the head snatch of- Oh, I forgot he did all that.”

T-Pain has sold over 50 million singles globally. In addition to collecting six Grammy Awards, more than one billion streams, and 10 number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
If he ever did decide to perform the halftime show, he would clearly be one of the more coveted headliners.
