T-Pain is taking legal action against Akon’s record label, Konvict Entertainment, seeking nearly $500,000 in allegedly unpaid royalties.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T-Pain claims the label paid him approximately $489,000 but withheld an additional $489,000 that he believes he is owed under their recording agreement and a 2025 settlement.

This marks the second time T-Pain has sued the label. His previous lawsuit was settled last year, with Konvict Entertainment agreeing to pay him $114,000 while denying any wrongdoing or liability.

The latest legal dispute arrives amid separate scrutiny surrounding Akon’s proposed $6 billion futuristic city project in Senegal. Reports indicate that the ambitious development failed to materialize as originally planned, with construction reportedly limited to a single unfinished structure.
