Chris Brown dropped his 12th studio album, Brown, last Friday (May 7). And the reviews have been… underwhelming, to put it nicely.
But Pitchfork took things a little too far when reviewing Breezy’s album. Calling the project a “real piece of s**t.”

However, in an industry full of critics, it’s good to have friends. And one of Breezy’s biggest defenders, R&B legend Tank, came to his rescue amid the backlash. Tank took to social media on Tuesday (May 12) and questioned the credibility of the outlet with just two words: “Pitch who?” he wrote, accompanied by several laughing emojis.

However, it’s not just Pitchfork that has been critical of Brown’s project. Groans have also come from fans who have taken issue with the 27-track project. As well as the artists who have been featured on it. But Tank says that there is a thin line between criticism and disrespecting an artist’s craft.
“Artists do their best to do art that is personal to them in the best way possible for you to receive it. We appreciate the love and support, but we can also understand constructive criticism. The problem is that most of you offer destructive criticism. You disguise your hate for ‘opinion,'” he said, as caught by BallerAlert on Instagram.
“Imagine doing your best, and someone just walks up to you and says, ‘I hate this s**t’. What’s your first response? You expect us, human beings, to just accept that and keep it moving!..lol While I respect his humility in this moment, he doesn’t owe you that! Love it, or hate it, have some f**kn respect! Have some sense of morality or just be a decent human being while having an opinion! That’s all we artists ask…”
